(JB) A new regional tourist office is to open in the west of Luxembourg, it was revealed at the opening of Luxembourg's three-day holiday fair on Friday.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Secretary of State for the Economy Francine Closener said that during the first quarter of the year, a regional tourist office would open in the central western part of the country.

It will be the fifth regional tourist office, which Ms Closener said would ensure that “the entire country has a professional regional tourism structure”.

The Secretary of State mentioned the move to transform the National Tourism Office into an economic interest group under Luxembourg For Tourism.

She said this change laid the groundwork for future development within the tourism sector.
