Starting from the Glück roundabout at the end of the A3 motorway, and passing through the Ban de Gasperich, the new Boulevard Kockelscheuer was officially opened to traffic on Monday.

Tom Colabianchi from the City’s department responsible for roads, is a man of his word. At the beginning of April he announced that Boulevard Kockelscheuer would be open "at the end of August, beginning of September". Shortly after 3pm on Monday following a ribbon cutting ceremony by ministers François Bausch and Etienne Schneider, accompanied by Sam Tanson the City’s minister in charge of mobility, it happened.

"The primary school for the Francophone Campus will open. That's why the boulevard had to be completed!” stated Tanson, referring to the new annex of Vauban school. "Today we inaugurate section 1" of the boulevard, stated Minister of Infrastructure, François Bausch.

The newly opened section allows motorists to travel from the Glück roundabout to the major crossroads with the Boulevard Raiffeisen which crosses Ban de Gasperich from North to South.

Eventually, the boulevard, which is 1.5 km long in total, will pass over the motorway to Arlon (the bridge is under construction) and will allow road and tramway users to reach the tram terminus, the new football stadium and a new P & R with 2,000 spaces.
