'Cockerill 503' steam train back on track

As of Sunday the old 'Cockerill 503' steam train was on the tracks at Fond-de-Gras once again for a new season. Known as the "little jewel", the locomotive puffed along the short 'Minett Park' route near Rodange.

The life of Cockerill 503 was saved in 1996 when it was discovered in a scrap yard in Belgium. It was then sent to Slovakia where it was lovingly restored before joining the line up of old steam trains at Fond-de-Gras in 2002.

Since then, each year, the little train runs between Fond-de-Gras, Fussbësch and Bois de Rodange. The train's timetable can be found on the 'Minett Park' website along with photos of the Cockerill 503 when it was discovered as a rusty locomotive in Belgium.
