Fancy a good laugh? This September, Luxembourg hosts a series of stand-up comedy shows in English by international comedians for you to titter at.
The first event takes place on September 23 at Brasserie Restaurant Marionnette, a location that has become synonymous with comedy in Luxembourg City, located on Rue de Strasbourg.
For the first show of the season, two comedians will be performing for your amusement.
Phil Nichol hails from Canada and is a past winner of the Perrier Award for Best Solo Show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It was only a month ago that his performance was voted the sixth best show there.
Carly Baker is from the US and was a Comedian of the Year Finalist in Scotland. She began her career in Houston, where she regularly performed at the Laff Stop. It didn't take long before she was opening for well-known comedians such as Darrell Hammond, Ralphie May and Adam Ferrara.
On top of that, surprise local talents will also take to the stage for an event hosted by Joe Eagan, responsible for bringing much international talent to Luxembourg. He promises some new jokes of his own that he claims to have concocted during the summer.
The show starts at 9pm on Saturday, September 23, with just one performance. One would do well to reserve tickets in advance, as previous events have proved very popular.
Advanced 'special' tickets cost €20 for one, or €37 for two, and can only be reserved by sending an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org. These tickets are limited, so it is recommended to reserve them as soon as possible. Door price on the night will be €25 each.
Luxembourg International Comedy Festival
This is the first of several events taking place over the next few months. Another professional comedy night is planned for Saturday, October 21, while Luxembourg International Comedy Festival takes place November 17-19.
