The exhibition "The 10th Muse and the Gods" is a summary of the year of artistic work of four artists: Tomasz Tobolewski, Łukasz Kliś, Marcin Urbańczyk and Sebastian Kubica. Individual sets of works are a visual record of conversations that these four artists, friends, conducted with each other in cafes, galleries, airports and train stations of Poland and Europe, traveling together in search of inspiration and adventure.
Travel and conversation at the table, where next to coffee or wine always lies an open sketchbook and a pen or pencil are for them a very important part of the artist's ethos.
Oil paintings by Tomasz Tobolewski are full of "painting meat" and reflection on the painting dimension of the cinema, Łukasz Klis's chamber acrylic paintings are records of impressions and memories from the cinema or painting interpretations of cinema stars, painted quickly, with nerve and wit. Posters by Marcin Urbańczyk are a tribute to the cinema of Krzysztof Kieślowski, full of subtle metaphors and allusions. They are not intrusive promotional materials, they are rather a graphic story about movies. Sebastian Kubica's drawings are very personal, sometimes witty thoughts about the timeless power of myths. The fascination with myths is not limited to the content itself, the author also plays with props of the ancient world by creating attractive and decorative drawings.
