The Movies prefer Blondes series continues on Friday with Madonna documentary In Bed With Madonna at 8.30pm. Shot behind the scenes of the singer's iconic Blonde Ambition Tour in 1990 the film offers a glimpse behind the facade. For musical fans it is time to rejoice on Friday evening at 10pm for an outdoor screening of the original 1988 production of Hairspray.
On Saturday Marilyn Monroe is back, starring alongside Clark Gable and Montgomery Clift in The Misfits, written by Monroe's third husband Arthur Miller and screened outdoors at 10pm.
Both outdoors showings are hosted in the Capucins theatre courtyard and are free of charge.
August 17-19, Drive-In Cinema, Belval
The American Embassy and Caramba Cinemas have teamed up for a special treat, and with the summer weather expected to last the Drive-In cinema in Belval should prove a hit over the weekend. Over the course of two weeks, Vianden plays host to a music school and festival. August 19, Santigold, Den Atelier, doors open 8pm
Santigold, formerly known as Santogold, came back with a bang after a four year hiatus and her new single Disparate Youth has been playing non-stop on radio stations across Europe. Following her break-out album in 2008 it seems that the singer is back to track to offer some fierce competition to today's pop divas. Ongoing until September 19, Un fleuve tranquille, Abbaye de Neumünster
Chinese artist Zeng Nian's large scale photographs chronicle Chinese culture and history, all under the looming shadow of the Three Gorges Dam. The villagers of the valley, some 1.8 million of which were displaced over 15 years of construction stand at the heart of the black and white photos. For more information click here.
Ongoing until September 2, Maria Anwander, Casino Luxembourg
Austrian artist Maria Anwander was the contemporary art forum's artist in residence in May and June this year. Her exhibition is now coming to a close. Studying in Vienna, Anwander lives and works in Berlin and has seen her work travel across Europe, as well as Australia, the US and Russia. The recipient on several awards, Anwander focuses on everyday objects and giving them a new meaning by removing them from their everyday context.

August 19, Car Football, from 12am, Erpeldange
Car football is as whacky as it sounds. 12 teams compete in the challenge, with two cars per team. As in normal football the aim is to shoot as many goals as possible, only instead of using your right foot, you use a car. While registrations are closed the tournament kicks off at 12pm and there will be a BBQ and drinks for everyone watching from the sidelines!
