(CS) Luxembourg table tennis player Ni Xia Lian lost out against her first opponent at this year's Olympic Games Ariel Hsing, leaving her out of the competition.
The defeat came as a complete surprise. Ni had been able to enter the table tennis competition in its second round due to her 43rd place in the world ranking. The Luxembourg team had expected her to move on into the third round where she could have faced Chinese player Li Xiaoxia.
However, Hsing (world ranking 115) fought hard against her opponent and was able to score a clear 2:4 win at London's Excel Arena.
