Luxembourg's Catholic community gathered en masse in Greveldange on Wednesday to pray for the Assumption under sunny skies.
The Feast of the Assumption, which takes place every August 15, is a chance for people of the Catholic faith to honour the Virgin Mary with processions.
It was the 28th time that Greveldange had hosted the celebrations, beginning with a High Mass by Archbishop Jean-Claude Hollerich.
The service was followed by a harvest festival called the "Léiffrawëschdag" where worshippers enjoy local Luxembourgish dishes and play music.
