(ADW) Luxembourg resident for over 20 years, Ni Xia Lian has been playing table tennis at the highest level and will compete for the Grand Duchy this year at the London Olympics.

She may well be 48 years old, but her ‘pen-holder’ style of playing is still conquering top-class opponents.

For the Chinese born sportswoman, it is her third participation in the Olympics. The left-hander already took part in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games as well as Beijing in 2008. However in 2004 in Athens, Ni Xia Lian had to pull out of the Olympics at the start for family reasons.

She shares her passion for table tennis with her husband Tommy Danielsson, one of the top Luxembourg players in the pas and now Lian’s trainer also featured in the video above.
