New Greek Ambassador lands in Luxembourg

New Greek ambassador to Luxembourg Ioannis Rizopoulos

Greece's latest ambassador to Luxembourg has arrived in the Grand Duchy.

Mr Ioannis Rizopoulos (pictured) landed in Luxembourg this week and will spend the next few weeks settling in before he presents his credentials to Grand Duke Henri in mid-January, 2012.

Born in 1954 in Athens, Mr Rizopoulos graduated from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

He has served in a number of diplomatic roles since 2000, including as Consul General of Greece in Philippoupoli (Plovdiv, Bulgaria), Düsseldorf (Germany) and Gjirokaster (Albania).

Mr Rizopoulos succeeds Georgios Gabrielides.
