Man injured with bottle for refusing cigarette

A man who refused to give a cigarette to a stranger was slashed in the face with a broken bottle.

The victim was reportedly sitting on a bench at around 3.40am on Monday in Ettelbruck when a stranger asked him for a cigarette.

The victim refused, prompting the stranger to lash out with a broken wine bottle.

The victim was wounded in the lower jaw and taken to hospital. Police began a man hunt for the attacker but were unable to find him.
