Bargain-hunters will be in their element this Friday when the summer sales officially kick-off in Luxembourg.

With discounts starting at around 30 percent and growing progressively over the next two weeks, it is the perfect chance for shoppers to fill up their wardrobes ahead of the summer holidays.

Luxembourg's shops launch two sales periods each year, with the summer sale running for two weeks until July 14.

To help consumers make the most of the two weeks, shops in the Capital's train station district will open their doors exceptionally this Sunday from 2pm until 6pm.

To encourage people to use sustainable transport, all buses numbered 1 to 25 will be free.

In France, the sales began on Wednesday and run up until July 31. Meanwhile Belgium's sales begin July 1 and end July 31.
