(CS/Ch.L) The first child of Prince Félix and Princess Claire might not be born in Luxembourg, as the couple lives in France and there are no regulations in place obliging Luxembourg's princesses to give birth in the Grand Duchy.
“There are no rules or laws that oblige the princesses to give birth in the country,” a palace spokesperson said. For example, Princess Tessy and Prince Louis welcomed their first son, Prince Gabriel, in Geneva.
It is not yet known where Claire will have the baby. However, there is a possibility that the new addition to the Grand Ducal family will be born in France, where the royal couple currently lives, managing the “Château les Crostes” estate in Lorgues.
Another option is Claire's native Germany.
What is known, however, is that the young prince or princess will hold only Luxembourg nationality and no dual Luxembourg-German citizenship.
Until Crown Prince Guillaume and Princess Stéphanie have a child, Félix and Claire's baby will be third in line to the throne.
