Luxembourg City installs first drinking fountain

(CS) The “Ville de Luxembourg” is offering some free refreshments to pedestrians, with the first of 16 drinking water fountains installed in the Grand Rue.

Designed by Cécile Planchais the first fountain stands close to the water feature on the Grand Rue, towards the Rue du Fossé.

The City of Luxembourg hopes that this will encourage people in the City to drink more tap water as its more environmentally friendly and cheaper than bottled water.

The remaining fountains will be installed over the coming years in Luxembourg's squares, parks and other public places which see many people pass by during the day.
