HRH Princess Alexandra celebrated her birthday on Saturday when she was expected to blow out 22 candles on the cake.
The pretty Luxembourgish princess is the second youngest child of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg and Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa as well as their only daughter.
Born at Maternity Grand Duchess Charlotte on February 16, 1991, HRH Princess Alexandra was first educated in Luxembourg, attending Angelsberg primary school and going on to gain a diploma in letters and literature at the Lycée Vauban in 2009.
The same year, the young princess was made Lady of the Order of the Golden Lion of the House of Nassau, a chivalric order shared by the two branches of the House of Nassau.
She is currently studying history, psychology, and sociology at Franciscan University in Ohio, in the United States. Princess Alexandra speaks fluent Luxembourgish, French, English and Spanish and has a good knowledge of German and Italian.
She is also a keen lover of literature and enjoys tennis, skiing and water skiing, among other sports.
