(CS) Prince Louis, the third child of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, is celebrating his 26th birthday on Friday.
The prince, who currently studies in the UK together with his wife Princess Tessy, was born on August 3, 1986, at Luxembourg's Maternité.
Attending primary school in Luxembourg, Louis later attended Luxembourg's International School before heading to boarding school in Switzerland.
During his time in Switzerland, Louis developed a strong interest in humanitarian and aid work, travelling to Mumbai with his school to teach English to disadvantaged children. The prince has since interned with the Red Cross in Geneva and worked with children and the elderly.
In September 2006, Prince Louis married Tessy Antony, following the birth of their first son Gabriel in March of the same year. Their second child, Prince Noah, was born in September 2007.
Since 2004 Louis holds the Order of the Lion of the House of Nassau. He is the patron of the Luxembourg Table Tennis and Martial Arts Federations, as well as Aeronautical Federation, holding a private pilot licence himself.
The Prince speaks several languages, including his native Luxembourgish, as well as French, German, English and Spanish.
In his free time Louis enjoys alpine sports, such as skiing and snowboarding, as well as cycling and diving, a passion he shares with his wife.
