Former US Ambassador to Luxembourg dies

(JB) A former US Ambassador to Luxembourg has died of a heart attack.

Peter Terpeluk was a well-known Republican fundraiser, who served as US Ambassador to Luxembourg from 2002 to 2005.

According to reports, the 63-year-old suffered a heart attack en route to meetings in Austin for the Perry campaign on Tuesday.

Born in Pennsylvania, Mr Terpeluk served for three years in Luxembourg where he garnered a hard-working reputation among the diplomatic community.

Prior to that he co-chaired George Bush senior's first presidential campaign, the 1992 re-election campaign and George W Bush's presidential campaign in 2000.

He worked as MD of American Continental Group since 1994. Before that he set up his a consultancy firm in 1986.
