(CS) Luxembourg's Prince Félix and Princess Claire were in Tokyo on Friday on their first official engagement since their September nuptials to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Sophia University.
Félix and Claire were among several honoured guests at the centenary celebrations, which also included Luxembourg Archbishop Jean-Claude Hollerich, who was a professor and the vice-president at the Jesuit university before returning to the Grand Duchy in 2011.
A special mass was held at the St Ignatius chapel on Friday, in attendance of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan, as well as a special enjoy of Pope Francis, Raffaela Cardinal Farina.
Around 4,200 people gathered for the special event.
In the evening, the royal newlyweds joined a reception hosted by the Luxembourg embassy in Tokyo, and met with Luxembourgers living in Japan.
