(CS) The European Commission has launched a new online portal, collecting information on decision-making processes within the EC for more transparency.
Vice President for inter-institutional relations and administration Maroš Šefčovič said that the EC had long been a leader in transparency among the EU's institutions. However, he said there had been criticism that information was scattered across several platforms and was not centrally accessible.
The portal is meant to give EU citizens easier access to information on expert commissions, laws and hearings, lobbying, but also the recipients of EU financing.
To ensure the user-friendliness of the site, NGOs, media representatives as well as the European Parliament have been urged to test the site and give feedback.
