As the summer holidays get underway in Europe, motorists are warned to expect extreme levels of traffic beginning today!

According to predictions by the Automobile Club Luxembourg (ACL), July 6 and 7 will be black days on Germany's roads when traffic intensity will be at its highest.

Sunday will see average summer traffic levels but the trend is expected to continue on Germany's roads every Friday and Saturday until August 4. August 11 was also listed as a black day in Germany.

In France, ACL warns motorists to avoid driving on August 4, its only listed black day, meanwhile Austria's roads are expected to be heavily congested on July 7, 14, 21, 28, and August 4, 11 and 18.

Traffic calendars for Italy and Switzerland are available by visiting the ACL website and clicking on their Traffic Info section.
