(CS/hay) When Claire Lademacher ties the knot with Luxembourg's Prince Félix next week she will become a real-life princess. But who is Claire Lademacher?

Prince Félix will marry his fiancée Claire in a civil ceremony on Tuesday in the German town of Königstein im Taunus. A few days later, a religious service will follow in the south of France at the Basilique Sainte Marie-Madeleine at Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume.

Claire Margareta Lademacher was born on March 21, 1985, in Filderstadt, Germany. She has one older brother, also called Felix.

Her childhood was spent in Usingen in Hesse, Germany, before the family moved to Atlanta in the US, when Claire was 11. Four years later, the family returned to Germany, where Claire attended the Frankfurt International School, before switching to the luxury boarding school Collège Alpin International Beau Soleil, where she received the Prize of Excellency in 2003.

It was at the boarding school that she first met Prince Félix, although it is not known when the two actually became a couple.

Bioethics student

Following her baccalaureate, Claire enrolled at the American University of Paris, where she studied International Communications. After graduating in 2007, Claire joined publisher Condé Nast in New York, before working as project manager for IMG World in Berlin.

In 2011, Claire began her Master's studies in bioethics at the Pontifical University Regina Apostolorum in Rome, completing her degree “summa cum laude”. During her studies, she also worked for the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights.

Currently, Claire is studying for a PhD in Rome. In 2012, she was a visiting researcher at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University in Washington DC. Of her time there Claire said: "The beautiful campus, the comprehensive library, the exchange with other visiting researchers and students of Georgetown, has made my stay such a gratifying and memorable experience. As for the staff, their warmth and friendliness has been a highlight."

Sport and languages

According to the Grand Ducal household, sport is an important part of Claire's life, as she enjoys dancing, tennis, volleyball, badminton and skiing. She is also interested in photography, as well as social, environmental and cultural issues. She has travelled widely and speaks German, English, French and Italian.

Since the relationship between Claire and Félix went public, she has attracted media attention, with over 87,000 Google hits to her name, as well as numerous Facebook pages and profiles, none of which have been verified.
