(CS) With several construction sites popping up in the capital, the Luxembourg commune is reminding citizens of its newsletter and awareness campaign.
Under the motto “Building our future” the City is providing information material, also in English, to inform citizens about the progress of construction.
Currently, construction is underway on Boulevard Royal, which will last until the end of February next year. During this time, the sewers as well as electrical lines will be updated, and glass fibre cables for high speed internet will be laid. The works are also a preparatory step for the installation of the tram and the new bus stops that will line Boulevard Royal.
On the horizon are construction works in the Rue Notre Dame, which are set to last until April 2013. Here, sewers and electrical lines will be updates, the district heating system will be extended and new street lights will be installed.
In October the Rue du Fossé will also see construction work.
Mediators, posters and newsletters
The City of Luxembourg is currently recruiting three mediators, who will liaise with local residents and shopkeepers, keeping them updated about the progress of construction. An information stand will also be installed next to the post office this month, and construction sites will be labelled with information material.
Meanwhile, the commune will do its best to ensure access to parking in town, as well as making construction sites as easy to cross for pedestrians as possible.
For more information on the construction sites, the City of Luxembourg has set up a special website, where a newsletter in French is also available. For more information head to chantiers.vdl.lu
The free CityMag, available around town every month, will also feature one page of information every month.
