The royal household has confirmed that Crown Prince Guillaume is set to become engaged to Belgian Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy, with Premier Jean-Claude Juncker making an official announcement on Thursday morning.
Since Prince Guillaume announced in November that he had a girlfriend, speculation has been rife on when the couple will get engaged.
Premier Juncker congratulated the young couple at a press conference on Thursday and confirmed that wedding will take place this year. Guillaume and Stéphanie will officially seal their engagement with a celebration on Friday morning.
The royal household has released the first photos of the couple to mark the occasion.
