Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa and Princess Stéphanie were among the guests attenting the special evening organised by the Luxembourg branch of the global charity.

Hosted at the Philharmonie the concert featured Luxembourg's philharmonic orchestra (OPL) under the direction of musical director Emmanuel Krivine, together with Brazilian pianist Nelson Freire.

On the programme were Felix Mendelssohn's Les Hébrides, offering a musical journey to Scotland's hebrides islands. This was followed by Richard Strauss's Ein Heldenleben, and the evening finished with a Robert Schumann piano concerto.

Proceeds of the night went to SOS Children's Villages in Cape Verde, which offer support to 540 children and 160 families on the islands São Vicente and Santiago.
