The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, also known as Will and Kate, will not be attending the wedding of Prince Guillaume and Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy, the British Royal Family has confirmed.
The disappointing news came in an official statement obtained by Luxembourg's Eldoradio, putting paid to rumours that the couple would come to Luxembourg for the occasion on October 20.
The statement reads: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will not be able to attend the wedding due to prior work and private commitments".
A press officer from the palace also told wort.lu that it had not agreed on a Royal representative to attend the wedding.
The Luxembourg Grand Ducal Court was unable to confirm the names of attendees. A spokesperson for the court told the wort that the list of attendees had not been finalised, promising to inform the media the moment it was.
Any more details, from guest list to dress designer and banquet chef, are yet to be released.
