Grand Ducal support for newspaper anniversary

(CS) Luxembourg's “Tageblatt” newspaper celebrated 100 years on Wednesday with Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa among the guests of honour.

The newspaper, founded by Paul Schroell, was first published on June 30, 1913.

Several high profile guests took part in the celebration on Wednesday, including the Grand Ducal couple, EU Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding, as well as Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn, Economy Minster Etienne Schneider, and Media and Communications Minister Luc Frieden.

The guests were treated to a ballet performance, as well as a round-table discussion on the role and responsibility of the media.
