(CS) Luxembourg's Hereditary Grand Ducal couple, Guillaume and Stéphanie, stopped by Esch/Alzette on their traditional visit to the city on the eve of National Day.
The royals were greeted by city officials at the Place de la Résistance and the celebration began with a somber moment to remember the fallen of WW2.
Guillaume and Stéphanie then made their way to the town hall, from where they watched a parade of local clubs and association. After an official reception inside the town hall, the pair made an appearance on the balcony before joining the crowds to light a bonfire and start the less formal festivities.
It was then quickly back to Luxembourg City to join Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa for the traditional torch-lit parade through the capital.
