1) Vocalisation

wort.lu strives to provide clarity on its website for the visually impaired or blind with vocalisation. Using the service ReadSpeaker wort.lu text is transformed into speech with a single command. The texts can be read directly while browsing,  or downloaded in mp3 format for later listening.

How to activate vocalisation on wort.lu:

  • By clicking on the link "Read" in the main navigation bar of the site
  • By clicking the "Speaker" icon at the beginning of a page section
  • By using the key combination of keys and "Accesskey 2" (this shortcut can differ depending on the browser, see table below)

    2) Commands and keyboard shortcuts

    Access keys and shortcuts to navigate web pages and use vocalisation using a computer keyboard.

    • 0 = Accesses the list of keyboard shortcuts and the accessibility description
    • 1 = Load the page with the most important information
    • 2 = Activate page content vocalisation

      The differences between web browsers: Key combinations giving access to vocalisation may be different depending on which browser you use. However, for entering access keys, use the numbers above the letters on the main keyboard and not the numeric keypad.

      Here is the list of keyboard shortcuts and access keys for different browsers:

      • IE Window: Alt + [accesskey] + Enter
      • Mozilla, Netscape, K-Meleon, FireFox Windows: Alt + Shift + [accesskey]
      • Opera 7 Windows, Macintosh, Linu: Esc + Shift + [accesskey]
      • MSIE Macintos: Ctrl + [accesskey] + Enter
      • Safari 1.2 Macintos: Ctrl + [accesskey]
      • Mozilla, Netscape Macintos: Ctrl + [accesskey]
      • Galeon/Mozilla/FireFox Linu: Alt + [accesskey]
      • Konqueror 3.3+: Ctrl followed by: [accesskey]
